Private property: A quaint notion

When I was on the treadmill this morning I caught the first few minutes of an Elvis Presley movie, Kissin' Cousins. I noticed two things. One was the creepy lyrics to the opening theme song.

The other thing I noticed was the premise of the movie. The USAF wants to put an ICMB site in the Smoky Mountains. They've found the location they need, but get this: it's private property. So what do they do? They find an officer from that part of the country and send him to negotiate with the owners -- to persuade them to sell.

As outdated as a fedora.
