Spreading the Word

Judge Roy Moore's Ten Commandments monument is on tour. First stop, the Dayton, Tennessee courthouse that held the Scopes evolution trial.

John Rocco, a Dayton monument supporter, and Larry Darby, president of the Mongomery-based Atheist Law Center, bumped knees, after which Darby made a rather impolitic comment about Christians and the "lunatic fringe." Rocco's response to a reporter:

"I'm glad I didn't carry my gun. I'd probably be in jail right now." Rocco said. "I believe in the Ten Commandments and I don't appreciate what people like him are doing to my country."
